As a traveler, the best thing that you always yearn for whenever you walk into a hotel is a memorable and a peaceful stay. However, some hotels in the world will leave you wondering how or why they were constructed. Here is a list of the top three most unusual hotels in the world.
Hotel Costa Verde, Provincia De Puntarenas, Costa Rica
It is not only the slogan of this hotel that sounds strange but also the guest rooms. For a moment, you may think that this is a hotel for monkeys since its official slogan reads, “Still More Monkeys Than People…”
The other strange thing about the hotel is that visitors spend their night in a re-engineered 1965 Boeing 727. While the distinctive shape of the Boeing remains untouched, its interior has been retouched to provide a local teak. You will have dinner in the kitchenette and enjoy your night in an air-conditioned bedroom with a bathroom all inside a cargo plane!

Palacio de Sal in Uyuni Bolivia
Probably you have heard about hotels built with ice blocks but have you heard or seen one which has been constructed from salt blocks? Well, Palacio de Sal is the world’s largest salt flat. The hotel is a real embodiment of the environment constructed from readily available materials.
It has 30 guest rooms that are well furnished. Even the tables, chairs and the dining room have been constructed from pure salt. Once you have entered this hotel, you start hoping that rain will not fall to interfere with your stay. On the contrary, you will be surprised with the comfort that ensues when the rain starts pouring.

The Ice Hotel in Sweden
Although several ice hotels have been constructed around the world, they are just a mimic of the ice hotel in Sweden. This hotel started as an exhibit by Japanese artists in 1990’s. The design was later transformed into a massive 18,000-square-feet facility completely constructed from blocks of ice and snow. The hotel has become an enormous tourist attraction site with everyone excited at the idea of spending a night on top of a freezer disguised as a bed.
