An introduction to the technology inside a completely new kind of hair dryer.
Many other hair dyers have large motors, and because of their size they have to be placed in the head which can make them top heavy.
But we’ve turned conventional hair dryer design on its head. The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer has a thirteen-blade axial flow impeller balanced inside the handle, spinning at up to 110,000 times per minute. Milled to a tolerance of 15 microns, it has one inaudible frequency and a rubber isolation mount prevents the motor from vibrating against the inside of the handle, reducing the transfer of noise between the motor and the case.
See what’s inside inside the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer – from Air Multiplier™ technology to intelligent heat control to help prevent extreme heat damage to protect natural shine.
Head over to the Dyson Hair channel where you can watch videos about the engineering process in action, and see hair experts like Akin Konizi get to grips with a new kind of hair dryer.
“Milled to a tolerance of 15 microns, the heart of a new kind of hair dryer is a thirteen-blade axial flow impeller.
It spins up to a hundred and ten thousand times per minute, with one inaudible frequency and motor vibration is reduced,
So it’s fast and light and sits in the handle
It’s engineered for balance.
Air temperature is monitored 20 times a second and regulated by a microprocessor, which helps prevent extreme heat damage, to protect natural shine.
There’s even space in the head for Air Multiplier™ technology to triple airflow.
