DJI Phantom 4 Pro
Not to be confused with the Phantom 4 that retails for about $500 less, the Pro enjoys a highly improved camera that benefits videographers and photographers alike. The Pro’s design includes a 1-inch image sensor that hits the 4K footage mark and 20MP JPG stills. At 7 x 11.5 x 11.5, the Pro weighs in at 3.1 pounds and requires FAA registration. It integrates forward, rear and downward facing obstacle sensors. This allows users to hover close to trees, buildings or engage in low-level flyovers at safe distance. The drone comes with a carrying case and sizeable remote controls for comfortable flight operations. At about $1,500, it’s a terrific value drone.

Zerotech Dobby
Micro drones are quickly becoming all the rage and the Dobby is smaller than most phones. This foldable pocket drone has a range of about 325 feet from a Wi-Fi-connected iOS or Android device. Launching the mini can be fun because you can toss it in the air and tap a flight mode. The smart device can also be programmed for voice control. It is geared toward personal enjoyment and has the ability to adequately shoot short 4K videos and 13-megapixel stills and selfies. The mini drone runs about $225, which is reasonable for its limited personal pleasure.
